In other words, why are we even born if we are only to die some seventy or eighty years later? Isn't there more to life than to say, "Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die?" Probably not if you believe the earth was created from a "Big Bang," that man evolved from amoebas millions of years ago, or that there is no Creator. Science is even discovering that the universe is getting old. It's dying, just like man, and it's not going to last forever. Something makes us wonder, "Why am I here?" That something is God.

Several years ago, the company I worked for was undergoing massive changes. Until then, I’d been on a wonderful team of encouraging leaders and friends. We were building our side of the business and seeing great success. We were thrilled to be a part of it. Then, before we knew what hit us, people were being downsized and company holdings were sold.

In an attempt to take market share, our company purchased another business that targeted a niche market. Within a few months, one of their managers pressed his way into a corporate VP position. We were stunned to find that this person we barely knew would have control over the business we’d built for years.

The UN's World Food Program sent three planeloads of high- energy biscuits to Myanmar, with another en route to help feed survivors of the May 3 cyclone, said Marcus Prior, a spokesman for the UN agency in Bangkok. WFP hasn't been able to send staff to oversee aid distribution. The agency has 16 visa applications pending, with only one accepted so far, he said.

The Meyer Amphitheater, downtown West Palm Beach. on the picturesque Flagler waterfront will be the venue of the well-anticipated, fun-filled 5th Annual Summer Sizzle Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival. With a cultivated expertise and passion for entertainment, the Full-A-Vibes committee has set plans in motion to produce one of the biggest, well-attended cultural events of the year. The stage at the Meyer Amphitheatre will permeate an infectious groove of music that will showcase the talents of some of the Caribbean’s leading musical luminaries such as the electrifying Fab 5 Reggae/Soca band, the legendary reggae artiste Frankie Paul and the lyrically dexterous Professor Nuts. In addition, there will be performances from Folk groups and a number of popular local acts who will display their talents through song and traditional dance.

There's yet another comparison to the pre-Passion hype: While critics accused director Mel Gibson and his film of anti-Semitism, the filmmakers behind Expelled—and movie host Ben Stein, who is Jewish—argue that Darwin and evolutionist theory paved the way for Hitler and the Holocaust (but Scientific American begs to differ). Perhaps it's no coincidence that Motive Marketing, which is spearheading publicity for Expelled, was also in charge of PR for The Passion.

When we first entered Temple Mount, my heart almost stopped. While I had seen The Dome of The Rock from a distance, to see it up-close and know that it rests where The Holy of Holies once stood made me almost sick to my stomach. Our guide told us that only Muslims may enter, but I have heard that some Christians have been allowed inside.
Soon, however, my mind flashed back to Bible stories when Jesus was teaching in the Temple, and asked His parents, "Didn't you know that you would find me in my Father's house?" and I could see Him overturning the tables of the money-changers in His last days.

April Fools Day History

The history of April Fool's Day or All Fool's Day is uncertain, but the current thinking is that it began around 1582 in France with the reform of the calendar under Charles IX. The Gregorian Calendar was introduced, and New Year's Day was moved from March 25 - April 1 (new year's week) to January 1.
Communication traveled slowly in those days and some people were only informed of the change several years later. Still others, who were more rebellious refused to acknowledge the change and continued to celebrate on the last day of the former celebration, April 1.

How is Christianity Any Different Than Other Religions?

" width="100" height="149">

A crucial distinctive about Christianity is that God cared enough about humankind to reach down and compassionately provide a way for us to be in a right relationship with Him. In other religions, people vainly attempt to reach God and earn their own salvation by doing good deeds and by refraining from bad behavior.
<b\>
The problem for those people is that no one can ever be good enough to earn his own salvation. In other words, no one can ever reach God through his own efforts. That is why God made a way for us by sending His Son Jesus to live a holy and sinless life and suffer the payment for our sins. In this way, if we believe in Jesus and choose to follow Him, we are forgiven by God and given new life.
